Looks like a slow day for updates, so I'm trying something new. I'll be posting two songs one from Carrie Underwood whose album Play On hit stores last week and the other from Shakira whose She Wolf hits stores in the U.S. on Monday. The songs I'm posting are album tracks, and some of my favorite songs from their new albums that I think everyone who hasn't already heard them should take a listen to. Haha, nice title. Anyway, Taylor Swift has been turned into a doll! The company Jakks Pacific has taken the job of turning the singer into three musical dolls each for a price of around $40 dollars. I saw this kid walking the red carpet at the 2009 Country Music Association Awards and I didn't know who he was until I saw the music video for "Boots On" by Randy Houser and I remember I had seen the little kid a while back pretty much rocking out to the song in his mom's car. I haven't done a "video of the week" in a while and I thought I'd share this one 'cause it's great! Allison Iraheta has released the music video for her debut single "Friday I'll Be Over You" off her album Just Like You in stores December 1st. The song and the video just remind me too much of Demi Lovato... that may not work in Allison's favor. Check it out!
Britney Spears will be releasing the follow up to her massively successful 2008 album Circus in 2010! According to her record label Jive, the singer is looking at a May release for her seventh studio album. Sean Garrett and Max Martin have been confirmed as part of this album as well. Let's hope Britney maintains success with Lady GaGa conquering all Pop charts right now.
Nicole Fox becomes the cycle 13 winner of Tyra Banks' show America's Next Top Model, which for the first time had fourteen short girls battling it out to win the title, and although this was known as the "petite" cycle Nicole stands at 5'7" making her the second-shortest winner of the show with Eva Pigford (Cycle 3 winner) remaining the shortest at 5'6".
Nicole is from Louisville, Colorado and during her stay on ANTM she was mostly known as the "awkward" and "shy" girl. On the last episode, she admitted that in High School she was so shy that she would sit in a bathroom stall to eat lunch so that others didn't see her alone. Despite her struggles with communication skills she proved to be one of the best models this season - never falling under the half-way point on Tyra Banks' elimination call-out order.
On a side note, this is actually the first time my favorite girl wins this competition which is already thirteen seasons gone. So congratulations to her! I'll be posting Laura and Nicole's CoverGirl ads as well as Nicole's winner shoot with Tyra once they are posted on the CW website.
A new season of America's Next Top Model will premiere on The CW in February 2010 - this time around, the tall models are back, all 5'8" and over.
